- Q: What is “TTP”?
- A: TTP stands for Timed Toggle Protocol. This built-in feature on most Lumitec products allows the user to control both dimming and or color-changing aspects of the light with a simple on/off switch. Here is a complete breakdown of TTP with diagrams and video: TTP Explained
- Q: What does “PLI Enabled” mean?
- A: PLI stands for Power Line Instruction. PLI is a protocol built-in to most Lumitec products, that sends control/configuration instructions to Lumitec luminaires over the standard power wires. - Q: What is “PWM”?
- A: PWM stands for Pulse Width Modulation. PWM has to do with the dimming of LED lighting. PWM dims a light by reducing the duty cycle and the time the light is on. You can’t see it, but the light is cycled off hundreds of times in a second so less light is emitted, creating the dimming effect.
- Q: What do I use to clean Lumitec lights?
- A: Mild soap and water will be able to remove most grime and salt spray on your lights. Underwater lights may be cleaned with a nylon brush and or a flexible straight edge to remove growth on both the lens and the housing. Please AVOID using harsh chemicals/solvents and abrasive cleaning products.
- Q: What does RGBW Spectrum mean?
- A: RGBW stands for Red, Green, Blue, and White. Spectrum simply refers to the light being able to create almost every possible color output option on the color spectrum.
- Q: How do I wire up my lights?
- A: Complete installation instructions are included with every light and listed under each product on Lumitec’s website. Most installations are rather simple due to the lights being either a 2 or 3-wire hook-up with no special components needed. With that said, if you are unsure of how to properly complete the circuit (wire sizing, fusing, etc.…) it is best you contact an ABYC Certified Marine Electrician.
