Epoch 4-Bank 12V Marine Battery Charger – 10A Per Bank

Four batteries. Four independent charging banks. One onboard charger.

The Epoch 4-Bank Onboard Marine Battery Charger provides four independent 12V / 10A charging outputs from one permanently mounted charger. Designed for boats with multiple 12V batteries, it's an ideal solution for 36V trolling-motor systems with a separate cranking or house battery.

Each charging bank can be configured independently for LiFePO4, lead-acid, or AGM batteries, allowing you to charge different battery types from the same onboard charger.

Simply connect one charging bank to each 12V battery and charge your entire battery system through a single AC connection.

Key Features

  • 4 Independent Charging Banks: One dedicated 12V output for each battery.

  • 10A Per Bank: Provides up to 10A of charging current to each connected battery.

  • 40A Total Output: Up to 40A of combined charging capacity when all four banks are operating at full output.

  • Multiple Battery Chemistries: Independently select LiFePO4, lead-acid, or AGM for each bank.

  • Lithium BMS Activation: Compatible with batteries that require charger-based BMS activation.

  • IP67 Protection: Epoxy-filled enclosure designed for demanding marine environments.

  • Active Cooling: Aluminum housing and temperature-controlled waterproof cooling fan help manage operating temperatures.

  • M8 Ring Terminals: Secure, permanent connections to each battery.

  • Individual LED Indicators: Easily monitor power, charging, battery type, and charging status for each bank.

  • Built-In Protection: Protection against short circuits, reverse connection, overcharging, overheating, and no-load conditions.

  • Automatic Charge Termination: Charging automatically stops when a battery reaches the charger's full-charge condition.

Ideal for 36V Trolling-Motor Systems

A common bass boat configuration uses three 12V batteries connected in series to create a 36V trolling-motor bank, plus a separate 12V cranking battery.

The Epoch 4-Bank Charger provides one independent charging channel for each battery:

Bank 1 → 12V trolling battery
Bank 2 → 12V trolling battery
Bank 3 → 12V trolling battery
Bank 4 → 12V cranking or house battery

This allows each 12V battery to be charged individually while still remaining part of the approved series battery configuration.

The charger does not connect across the entire 36V series bank. Each red/black charging lead connects to one individual 12V battery.

Important: When charging batteries that remain connected in series, follow the charger and battery manufacturer's approved installation and charging instructions. Verify that the charger is approved for use with the specific battery configuration before installation.

10A Per Bank – 40A Total

Each charging bank provides up to 10A of charging current independently.

With four batteries charging simultaneously, the charger can provide up to 40A of aggregate charging capacity.

Because each battery receives its own dedicated charging channel, the charger does not divide one 10A output between four batteries.

Charge Different Battery Types

Each charging bank has its own mode selection, allowing you to configure the charger for the battery connected to that specific bank.

Supported battery types include:

  • LiFePO4

  • Lead-Acid

  • AGM

This makes the charger particularly useful for boats using LiFePO4 trolling batteries with a separate AGM or lead-acid cranking battery.

Important: Battery chemistry cannot be changed while that bank is actively charging. Disconnect the bank's DC connections before changing the selected charging mode.

Lithium BMS Activation

For compatible lithium batteries, the charger includes a BMS activation function.

After selecting Lithium mode, hold the MODE button for approximately 3–5 seconds to activate the charging output when required.

Always verify BMS activation requirements with the battery manufacturer's instructions.

Built for the Marine Environment

IP67 Epoxy-Filled Enclosure

The charger features an IP67-rated, epoxy-filled enclosure designed to withstand the demanding conditions found in marine applications.

The charger should still be mounted in a protected location. Do not submerge the charger, and keep the AC plug and battery connections dry and protected.

Active Cooling

This charger uses an aluminum housing, bottom cooling plate, and temperature-controlled waterproof fan to manage heat during operation.

Maintain at least 30mm of clearance around the charger and do not obstruct the fan or cooling surfaces.

Secure M8 Ring-Terminal Connections

Each charging bank is equipped with pre-wired M8 ring terminals for secure connection directly to the battery.

The permanent connections help reduce the possibility of loose or disconnected charging leads during trailering and normal boat operation.

Simple Onboard Installation

Mount the charger securely to a rigid surface using the 6.5mm mounting holes and appropriate M6 hardware.

Connect:

  • Red → Battery Positive (+)

  • Black → Battery Negative (-)

Connect one charging bank to each individual 12V battery, select the appropriate battery chemistry for each bank, and connect the charger to a properly protected AC power source.

Once installed, the entire battery system can be charged through one AC connection.

Built-In Protection

The Epoch 4-Bank Charger includes multiple protection features to help protect the charger and connected batteries:

  • Short-circuit protection

  • Reverse-connection protection

  • Overcharge protection

  • Overtemperature protection

  • No-load protection

  • Automatic charge termination

Important Installation Notes

  • 12V batteries only: Each charger output must connect to one individual 12V battery.

  • Do not connect a single bank across a 24V, 36V, or 48V battery bank.

  • Select the correct charging profile for the battery connected to each bank.

  • Do not change battery chemistry while a bank is charging.

  • Follow the battery manufacturer's charging requirements.

  • For series-connected batteries, verify the manufacturer's approved method for onboard charging before installation.

  • Maintain adequate ventilation and cooling clearance around the charger.

  • Keep the AC plug and battery terminals dry and protected.

  • The charger does not replace required battery switches, fuses, circuit protection, or other boat wiring protection.
